Step-by-Step Guide to Shipping Your Goods from Dubai to KSA
This guide walks through every step of shipping commercial goods from Dubai to Saudi Arabia. Whether you are shipping for the first time or looking to streamline an existing process, this checklist covers everything you need.
Step 1: Determine What You Are Shipping and Its Value
Before anything else, prepare an accurate cargo description: what the goods are, how many units, the total weight and dimensions of all cartons or pallets, and the commercial value. Accuracy at this stage prevents customs delays later.
Step 2: Check for Restrictions and SABER Requirements
Verify that your goods are permitted into Saudi Arabia. If your cargo falls into regulated categories (electronics, cosmetics, food, toys, construction materials, etc.), check whether SABER conformity certificates are required. Allow 2–5 working days to obtain SABER certificates if needed.
Step 3: Get a Shipping Quote
Contact Cargo Service Dubai with your cargo details, Dubai pickup address, and KSA delivery address. We will recommend the right service type (LCL, FTL, air freight) and provide a full, itemised quote within 2 hours.
Step 4: Prepare Your Commercial Invoice and Packing List
Your commercial invoice must include: seller and buyer details, HS codes for each product, accurate description, quantity, unit value, total value, and currency. Your packing list should match the invoice exactly, with the addition of dimensions and weights for each carton.
Step 5: Pack Your Cargo Properly
Use appropriate boxes, cushioning, and palletisation for your cargo type. Label every carton with the consignment reference, recipient address, and carton number (e.g., 1/10). If in doubt, use our professional packing service — the cost is modest and the protection it provides is significant.
Step 6: Confirm Pickup and Hand Over to Our Driver
Our driver arrives at the agreed time, counts and inspects the cargo, and issues a collection receipt. From this point, your cargo is in our care.
Step 7: We Handle UAE Export Customs
Our export customs team submits the UAE export declaration. You receive confirmation once UAE export clearance is complete.
Step 8: Border Crossing and Saudi Import Clearance
Your cargo crosses at the Hatta/Al Wajajah border. Our Saudi customs broker submits the import declaration. You are notified when Saudi customs clearance is complete.
Step 9: Last-Mile Delivery in KSA
Our KSA delivery partner transports your goods to the recipient's address. The recipient signs for the delivery.
Step 10: Receive Your Proof of Delivery
We send you the signed POD — your confirmation that the shipment is complete. Your shipping coordinator remains available for any follow-up questions.
