If you are comparing operators for terms, Cargo Service Dubai is the pickup-and-paperwork version of the service: local collection, a document checklist you can actually complete, and handover in the GCC. The body below still covers the lane; the difference is how we take the booking.
A practical checklist for this terms booking
Before we confirm terms, the desk checks three things: can it be collected tomorrow, is the invoice believable, and can the receiver in the GCC take the delivery. Fail any one and the cheap rate becomes a delayed rate.
- Photos of packed cargo, or a note that we must pack
- Exact pickup pin in the UAE and access constraints
- Receiver name matching ID or commercial registration
Return those three and a Cargo Service Dubai quote is a plan, not a guess.
Booking this consignment from a local UAE address
Skip the generic โwhat is freightโ primer. For this page we only cover what changes the booking: access at origin, packing class, and the delivery type in the GCC (door, warehouse, or terminal).
Clearance and handover notes specific to the GCC

3. Packing and cargo protection
Cargo safety begins at the carton. Where the Shipper packs their own goods, they warrant that packing is adequate for multi-day road transport, stacking, and at least one intermediate handling. Fragile, liquid, or high-value items must be identified at booking so appropriate crating, cushioning, or segregation can be arranged.
The Company is not liable for damage arising from insufficient or unsuitable owner-packing, undeclared fragile contents, or internal damage to externally intact packages. Professional packing by the Company's crew is available and is recommended for glass, electronics, machinery, and household moves.
- Use double-wall cartons; seal all seams and edges with tape
- Keep individual cartons within a one-person lift where possible
- Palletise, strap, or shrink-wrap items exceeding 30 kg
- Mark fragile pieces on at least two faces and declare them at booking
- Drain fuels and fluids from machinery and equipment before handover
- Label every piece with the Receiver's name and phone number
How is cargo secured during transport?
Loads are stowed, blocked, and lashed according to weight and fragility, with heavier freight positioned low and fragile consignments segregated from dense cargo. Seals applied at loading remain the Receiver's first check at delivery. The Company may open and inspect any package where required by customs or where safety concerns arise, and will record any such inspection.
Practical note: photograph your goods after packing and before collection. A dated photo set makes any handling dispute quick to resolve โ for you and for us.
4. Prohibited and restricted goods
The Shipper must not tender alcohol, narcotics, weapons, currency, or any item prohibited under UAE, Saudi, or destination-country law. Restricted items โ including medicines, foodstuffs, batteries, aerosols, and telecom equipment โ are accepted only with prior written agreement and the required permits. Undeclared prohibited goods may be surrendered to authorities, and all resulting fines, storage, and costs are for the Shipper's account.
5. Documentation, customs, and duties
The Shipper is responsible for providing accurate invoices, packing lists, and identification documents, and warrants their truthfulness. The Company arranges export and import formalities as agent, but customs authorities retain sole discretion over inspection, valuation, and release. Duties, taxes, and any charges levied at origin or destination are payable by the Shipper or Receiver as agreed at booking.
6. Transit times and delivery
Published transit windows โ typically three to seven working days for GCC road consignments โ are good-faith estimates, not guaranteed dates. Border congestion, customs inspection, weather, and public holidays may extend them, and the Company is not liable for losses caused by delay. Delivery is complete when the goods are handed over at the agreed address, or to the Receiver's nominated representative, against a signed delivery record.
| Condition | Shipper / Receiver duty | Company duty |
|---|---|---|
| Handover | Accurate address, reachable phone | Advance delivery contact |
| Inspection | Check pieces and seals on receipt | Provide piece count record |
| Visible damage | Note on delivery record immediately | Acknowledge and investigate |
| Failed delivery | Rebooking or storage charges may apply | Hold goods securely, notify Shipper |
7. Liability, insurance, and claims
The Company's liability for loss or damage is limited in accordance with applicable transport conventions and the declared value stated at booking. Consequential losses โ lost profit, lost contracts, replacement hire โ are excluded. Shippers requiring cover beyond these limits should request cargo insurance at booking; premiums are calculated on the declared value, and claims are settled against it.
Visible damage or shortage must be recorded on the delivery note at handover. Concealed damage must be reported in writing within three days of delivery, with photographs and the original packing retained for inspection.
8. Payment, storage, and lien
Charges are payable as agreed at booking; accounts in arrears may result in suspended services. Goods that cannot be delivered or are uncollected may be stored at the Shipper's cost. The Company holds a general lien over goods in its custody for unpaid amounts and may, after written notice, dispose of goods to recover outstanding charges where permitted by law.
9. General provisions
If any clause is held unenforceable, the remainder continues in force. These conditions are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and disputes fall to the courts of Dubai unless otherwise agreed in writing. The Company may update these terms; the version in force at booking applies to that consignment. Questions about any clause can be raised with our team on WhatsApp at +971 58 936 0016 before you book.
